TEETH STAINS COULD BE OF TWO TYPES
- INTRINSIC STAINS
- EXTRINSIC STAINS
Intrinsic stain occurs from within the tooth and can’t be removed by brushing or flossing. While bleaching might also not be effective to that extent.
On the other hand, extrinsic stains that occur on the external surface of tooth could be removed by scaling and polishing procedures.
For severe cases of stains, treatment like porcelain veneers or dental bonding is considered.
